Facebook Like/Fan Box For Blogger

  • jeudi 10 février 2011
  • This tutorial is for everyone who has already created a Facebook Fan Page. If have not created one, try making one. A Fan Box or Like Box allows your Blog visitors to like your facebook fan page, without leaving your blog. It can also display faces of the “likers” on your blog. To add the fanbox to blogger, follow these steps:
    1. Find out your Facebook Fan Page URL. To do that, just visit your Facebook Fan Page, and copy the url in the address bar.
    image
In my case it is http://www.facebook.com/bloggerplugins (The url which you see in the address bar when you visit your fanpage.) .Copy this url from your address bar.
    2. Visit This page http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box
You have already copied the facebook fan page url. Paste this into the Facebook Page URL field
    image
Select the choices appropriately and you can see a live preview of the Like/Fan box.
3.Once you are satisfied with the looks of the Like Box, Click on the “Get Code” button
    4. Copy the iframe code which gets generated.
    image
    5. Now login to your Blogger account and go to Design > Page Elements
Click Add a Gadget Link and Add an HTML/JavaScript Gadget
    image
6.Paste the generated code as the Gadget’s Content
    image
    and Save the Gadget.
Now you should see the Fan/Like Box on your blog’s sidebar.

Spam maintenance with Akismet Auntie in WordPress

  • mercredi 9 février 2011

  • Akismet Auntie Spam is a maintenance script for WordPress administrators. One of the problems with the Akismet spam protection service is that sometimes it misidentifies a real comment as spam. WordPress has a spam recovery console that I like to call the spam inbox.

Have you ever stuck your hand as far back at you can into the crannies of your couch and pulled out what you found? That’s kind of what going into the default Akismet spam inbox is like. It’s a dark and evil place, filled with things that will make your eyes burn. You only wanted to find the quarter you lost, but before you know it your hand is stuck and something is touching you back.
Akismet Auntie Spam is a kind old lady who will come to your house and give it a thorough cleaning. She’s not afraid of the dark corners, particularly the spam inbox because she knows exactly how to handle the creepy crawlies hiding out of sight.
Akismet Auntie Spam is not a WordPress plugin. It is a script for the Firefox web browser that will work with any installation of WordPress or WordPress Multi-user — that means you can use it with WordPress.com, Edublogs.org, Blogsome.com and any site that is running WordPress with Akismet. Version 2 is a complete rewrite from scratch, and it is much less complicated now. There are no knobs and buttons for users to twiddle with — it works out of the box, the same way for everyone. Auntie Spam is here for one reason and that’s to save you time.
Akismet Auntie Spam is in no way affiliated with WordPress or Auttomatic — it’s a script I created to make it a hell of a lot easier to watch out for false spam.

    How to Install

Slight gotcha: if you are an old time user of Akismet Auntie Spam (from before August 2007) then you’ll want to uninstall your old version before installing the new version of the script. Find out how to uninstall a Greasemonkey script.

What Does Akismet Auntie Spam Do?

Much less time is spent navigating your spam inbox. You can see it all on one page, and it doesn’t take nearly as long to scroll through as it would without Akismet Auntie Spam installed.
    • Fetches all of your spam comments and displays them on one page.
    • Sorts spammers by the amount of spam they’ve sent.
    • Shows only the first line of spam, so less time is spent scrolling.
    • Completely hide obvious spam.
    • Automatically checks for a new version of itself every two weeks.
    • Install it once into your Firefox browser and it will work with *ALL* your WordPress blogs.

    Show Me How It Works

Go to your spam inbox on your WordPress dashboard console.
    wordpress comments akismet dashboard
Auntie Spam will immediately kick in and download all of the spam at once — no navigating between 10s to 100s of individual pages of spam.
Akismet Auntie Spam will automatically download all of your spam
You can do something else like check your RSS feeds while she grabs all of your spammy comments and organizes them.
    Auntie Spam has finished downloading
Spam is sorted from newest to oldest and categorized from most spammy to least spammy. She groups spam by identifying the computer it came from, so surprisingly enough the more spam you have the easier it is to look through it all. She even summarizes it all by only showing the first line.
Spam is compressed - only the first line
Auntie Spam hates those idiots who keep sending you spam again and again. They can be completely ignored.
    obvious spam is completely hidden
As you read through all the comment summaries, you may come across one that looks like it isn’t spam. Click on the ‘# comments’ link and Auntie Spam will show you the full text of the comment and give you the option to mark it as not spam.
Click to see the full comment and to mark it as not spam
Once all the spam is loaded there no need to reload it all because you want to search for something specific — hit Ctrl+F and use Firefox’s built in page search.
Search from within your browser instead of using the website
When it comes to de-spamming marked comments, or deleting all comments, Auntie Spam gets out of the way and things work the same way they always have.
    despaming or deleting all comments
all spam deleted -- no spam found
If Auntie Spam is doing something you don’t want here to, you can return to way things have always been with a single click on the Greasemonkey icon and reloading the page.
    turn greasemonkey on and off
    but,

    What Are You Waiting For?

If you’re running WordPress and you’ve ever had to go dumpster diving for a comment that was accidentally marked as spam then you need Akismet Auntie Spam.

Learn How These 5 Easy Methods can Help You to Earn Extra Income Online

  • Working on your own home based internet business can be fun and is relatively easy to do if you follow these five methods. The beauty of it is that it has very flexible hours and there are many different ways to make money online if you combine several methods.

So exactly how many different methods are you employing to build your business successfully? Let's look at some of the ways that are easily accessible to everyone.

    1.  Affiliate Marketing. One of the most popular methods especially for anyone who is new to internet marketing, this is a simple form of making money as you do not need to create your own product, and there are thousands of affiliate programs available online.

All that is really required of you once you join an affiliate program is to promote the program and you will be paid a commission every time someone buys the product through your link. When you join an affiliate company you will be given a personal link or ID which gets added to any promoting that you do. Your affiliate ID or link will appear any time a sale is made through your advertising and you will earn a commission.

    2.  Network marketing. Network marketing or MLM as it is often called is a business that can be done both online and offline and has been around for many years. This type of business is twofold in that it involves both the selling of products and sponsoring people in to the business and building a down-line of network marketers from whom you will earn a residual income as they build their businesses by duplicating your efforts.

Having a website that you can send prospects to when you first meet them is an extremely powerful method of reinforcing your original sales pitch.

    3.  Niche marketing. If you have a subject or hobby that you are passionate about then setting up a website that is directed toward your passion is an excellent way to make money doing something that you love. You can easily research if the niche you are interested in is lucrative or not. If it is, then it should be relatively easy to find products that you can sell on your website where you can also write articles with information connected to your subject and if you know what you are talking about people will want to visit your site and purchase what you have to offer.

    4.  Direct retailing. If you own a bricks and mortar business already or if you make a product and would like to expand and sell on the internet then you can either build a website of your own on which to sell your products or you can offer them for sale on auction websites. This is one of the easiest methods of generating sales. There is a downside to consider with this type of business and that is that you are responsible for the packaging and shipping of your products to the customers, but if you do not mind doing these chores then it is an excellent method to use for an internet based business.

    5.  Membership sites. This is an exceptionally popular method of generating income at the moment and there is an enormous market on the web if you have specialized knowledge of any kind that you can utilize with a membership site. Basically a membership site makes money through people signing up with a monthly subscription so that they can access the information that you offer where as a specialist in your subject you are able to mentor them.

In order for this method to work you will have to be able to offer really good quality content if you want your subscribers to remain loyal and keep following you.

There are many more opportunities and ways of making money with and internet based home business but these five methods will help anyone with a desire to succeed to build a successful and prosperous online business. Provided you are willing to learn what is required with which ever methods you choose and you are prepared to put in the necessary work, there is absolutely no reason why you should not be a success and earn a very lucrative income as your own boss working from home and dictating your own hours. That is the greatest feeling of all.

What to search for When You Compare Hosting.

  • As a guarantee I made to God when I made my first $3,000 online in 2007, naturally that's a small amount compared with what I make now, to share my new found tips with potential salesmen, even expert sales executive could find it informative too. What quantity of folks will need your product ( s ), what's the conversion rate ( the number which will buy when you present it to them ), the major need that these set of folks have and what makes them seek for solution.
The subsequent step in the direction of selling offensively to focused customers is to sell hot products. Do not select a product that potential customers would manage. There are well quality products on any niche you select. Just ensure that its required at that actual time. For example, if you sell a smoking product on the right way to cut back your shopping costs this Xmas season, you are certain intending to make huge sales because its hot and of serious demand. Often , you have to join the other chariots and sell what they are selling. Making a system is not as straightforward as you suspect. The truth is that, they're making more than they spend. There are a large amount of new folk on the web at this time, people who are looking at making a simple living by setting up affiliate web sites and expecting to watch the money roll in.
Running your own site is lots of work and somewhere you are able to save both time and cash is in the hosting. Another thing to search for when you compare hosting is the amount of domains that they will enable you to have working on one account. Be active with them, share some ideas with them, and supply proved answers to their bothering questions. When you are contented promoting a selected product / service, its going to be manifested in the way you relate with your clients.
